Bought these for the MarkIV Tactical. Was looking for a fiber optic front sight to go with the OEM black out rear and was hoping these would work. They did!
Only had to make a minor elevation adjustment to the rear. Sights are good quality and super bright for easy acquision. Love them. Did you find this helpful? I wear bifocals and struggled with getting a clear view on the sight that came with Ruger Mark IV.Mercury outboard wiring diagram
The Williams Fire Sight was a significant improvement, particularly in lower light conditions in indoor ranges. Once installed she complained the sun was reflecting off the Picatinny rail. So I removed the rail and it improved the sight picture. These look like quality sights and they look good on the pistol.
She is still breaking in pistol she only had a couple hundred rounds thru it and these sights are much better than the factory sights. If the sights are not aligned correctly, then the sights should be adjusted to bring the line of sight to meet the point of impact. Theoretically, this can be done with a single shot—clamp the firearm into a vise, fire one shot, then adjust the sights so they are pointing at the hole in the target.
In reality, it generally takes a number of shots to establish a group, then the sights are adjusted to move the line of sight closer to the group, and the process is repeated iteratively until the sights are correctly aligned. If your shot is above needs to be lower your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved lower or your front sight should be moved higher.
If your shot is below needs to be higher your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved higher or your front sight should be moved lower. If your shot is left from your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved right or the front sight should be moved left. If your shot is right from your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved left or front sight should be moved right.
Always remember: Rear same, front opposite that you want POI to move.
Many target sights have click adjustments, where a detent in the adjustment screws allows the sight to move the line of sight a certain angular distance with each click. This distance is usually specified in minutes of arc, which translate to approximately 1 inch at yards. On a firearm with 1 minute clicks, then, it would take 1 click to move 1 inch at yards, 2 clicks to move 1 inch at 50 yards, 4 clicks to move 1 inch at 25 yards.
If click adjustments are not available, or the click interval is not known, then the distance to lengthen or shorten the sight for a given point of aim adjustment is:. D1 is the distance between point of aim and point of impact. R1 is range from front sight to target. D2 is the length the rear sight must change by. R2 is the distance between front and rear sights. R1 is range from rear sight to target. D2 is the length the front sight must change by. R2 is the sight radius distance between front and rear sights.
Likewise, all distances must be in the same units. An example: Consider a rifle with a distance between front and rear sights of How much must the front sight blade height be changed by to fix this problem? It will be assumed that the muzzle of the rifle intrudes into the range space for following typical gun range safety protocols, and the rear sight is hence 50 yards from the target.
With this correction, the rifle will hit the desired point of impact, all other factors being equal. Vertical Adjustment Up and down : If your shot is above needs to be lower your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved lower or your front sight should be moved higher.
Horizontal Adjustment Left and Right : If your shot is left from your target using both sights facing directly at your target, the rear sight should be moved right or the front sight should be moved left.

They consist of two parts: a simple post on the front and a notch in the rear through which the shooter aligns the front post. Many rifles come standard with iron sights. They are durable, easy to use and less expensive than scopes. Adjusting iron sights for elevation -- vertical alignment -- is easy and takes only minimal tools.
Once adjusted, it is difficult to knock the sights out of alignment, which makes them appealing in rugged hunting situations.
S&W M&P COMPACT .22LR Target Pistol Firesights
Shoot at a target to learn whether the gun is hitting high or low. Fire three shots to establish a trend. Move the rear sight in the direction you want your shot to go. If your gun shoots low, you need to raise the point of impact to hit the bull's-eye, so raise the rear sight. If the gun shoots high, you need to lower the point of impact, so lower the rear sight.

Hope I just got a bad samp Sort by.Shooters who are accustomed to using peep sights -- and have their rifles properly sighted-in -- can accurately hit their targets at distances of up to yards.
Experts can often be accurate at twice that distance. Understanding the optics -- and how the human eye works with a peep sight -- is a vital first step to mastering a rifle. A shooter familiar and comfortable with a peep sight can often hold his own with shooters using telescopic sights. Bring your eye to the peep sight, allowing the edges of the aperture to blur. The target will also be somewhat out of focus.
Concentrate on the front bead of the peep-sight system, bringing it into focus and centering it on your target. The human eye will automatically center itself in the middle of the peep sight. Fire several shots on the target range to get comfortable and relaxed. The goal is to establish a repeatable shooting position.
Adjust the elevation screw -- or knob -- on the peep sight to establish the proper relationship between the front bead and your target.
Shooters often adjust the elevation setting so that shots hit at the top of the peep-sight's front bead.
When peep-sight elevation is adjusted to place shots on the center of the bead, the bead itself often covers too much of the target. Raise the elevation of the rear peep-sight if your shots are going too low. Lower the rear peep-sight if your shots are going too high. Adjust the windage screw -- or knob -- on the peep sight to correct for right or left misalignment. Use the adjustment to move the aperture in the same direction you want your shots to move.
If you are missing to the left, use the windage adjustment to move your peep sight to the right. If you are missing to the right, adjust the peep sight to the left.
